Let's get Codistry in front of a million people.

Philip, I loved our conversation! Here's everything I found, how I'd help you get the free program in front of as many people as possible and turn more of them into paid students, and a head start I already built for you, including a working onboarding engine you can try yourself.

// a quick note

Hi Philip!

I left our call really excited. What you're building with Codistry is so cool, and the timing couldn't be better. Everyone is trying to figure out AI right now, and you're actually teaching people to build with it.

I've been running growth for Coding Temple for years, so I know this audience well. Students, recent grads, career switchers, people wondering if they can really learn to build something. I know what gets them to sign up, what keeps them going, and what finally gets them to invest in themselves.

So I didn't want to just send you a list of ideas. I went through the whole site, dug into the numbers, looked at who else is out there, and started building some of the pieces for you. They're all below.

Here's the short version: you have something really special. Your story, a free program, a real paid path and a hiring marketplace at the end. What's missing is the system around it that brings people in and shows you exactly what's working. That's my favorite thing to build.

I'd love to help you get the free program in front of as many people as possible. My approach is simple: start with what moves the numbers most, do it really well, then build from there. I love being hands-on, and I'd love to be your partner on this.

// your head start

I didn't want to just tell you. So I started.

These are first drafts of pieces I'd want to get going, built in your brand. We'd start with the few that matter most, and you'd have final say on all of it.

01 · the free program, instant

Click start, be learning in 10 seconds.

Right now "Start AI Basics" opens a form to book a date. Your site already has Google and LinkedIn sign-in, so we can send people straight into lesson one. This is the biggest win on the whole site.

02 · MSPs

Every MSP gets its own Codistry page.

An MSP sends one link to all of its clients. Their logo sits next to yours, and every sign-up is credited to them, so you both see exactly what they bring in.

03 · colleges

Colleges want to see other schools first, so we make being first the prize.

To: Career Services DirectorSubject: Free AI building program for your students

Hi [Name],

Your students are getting asked about AI in every interview now. Codistry teaches them to actually build real software and automations with it, no coding background needed.

We're choosing our first five founding schools. Your students get free access, and your school is featured as a founding partner.

Could I send you a 2 minute walkthrough?

04 · the share loop

Every graduate brings the next one.

You already have a referral partner program (up to $800 per program referral, $3,000+ for companies, up to 50% off for the friend), but it's an apply-to-join program linked only from the footer. We add a simple share link for every graduate, right where they feel proudest: the moment they finish.

05 · your glossary

264 pages, ready to send people to lesson one.

Google already indexes about 190 of your Lingo pages, but none of them point to the free program. One card at the end of each page turns readers into learners.

A short-lived credential that proves a user is logged in, so the app doesn't ask for a password on every request.

06 · Philip's voice

Your story is the best ad you have.

Two LinkedIn posts in your candid, no-hype style, each ending at the free program.

PC
Philip CamilleriFounder, Codistry · Cofounder, SmartAsset (YC S12)

I spent a year rebuilding a VC firm's internal systems using only AI-generated code.

The hardest part wasn't the code. It was knowing what to ask for, how to check what came back, and when it was wrong.

That's exactly where our free course starts. 8 hours, at your own pace.

PC
Philip CamilleriFounder, Codistry

At SmartAsset, I built a 20+ person engineering team from scratch to serve 100M+ users a month.

Today, someone with no coding background and solid fundamentals can build a real product with AI. The fundamentals are the part most people skip.

07 · ad creative

Six ads, three audiences, all in your brand.

Your July Malta ads had a strong hook, but each ran for a few hours to a few days, and the pixel only tracks page views, so there was no sign-up signal to learn from. These are real files at full Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn sizes. We'd run them long enough to learn, and judge them on how many people actually start lesson one.

Ad: Don't learn to code. Learn to build.
Career switchers · Meta feed
Ad: Philip's story, 100% AI-generated code
Professionals · LinkedIn

Students · TikTok and Reels

08 · tracking

Exactly what we'd measure.

So every Monday you know where people came from, what they did and what it cost.

09 · tracking inside the course

Know who's ready to buy, from how they learn.

The free course is your best sales tool, if you can see what happens inside it. I'd track how each learner actually uses the course, which lessons they finish, how often they come back, what they try to build, whether they look at paid programs, and turn that into a simple "ready for paid" score. Your site already identifies signed-in learners in Mixpanel, so this builds on what you have.

// what I'd track inside the course
  • Progress: lessons started and finished, time spent, where people drop off
  • Habits: how often they return, time of day, how fast they move
  • Interest: which topics they replay, what they say they want to build
  • Buying signals: visits to pricing, cohort and program pages, checkout started
// what it unlocks
  • The right offer to the right person at the right moment
  • A short list of hot learners worth a personal call
  • Ad audiences built from your best learners, so Meta and Google find more like them
  • Clear proof of which channels bring people who actually pay, not just sign up
  • Real data on which lessons lose people, so the course itself gets better

All of it only for learners who accept tracking, and shared with them plainly in your privacy policy.

The onboarding engine, working.

This is a real automation, running right here on the page. Make up a new learner, hit run, and watch what happens in the first two seconds after someone signs up: tracked, credited to the right partner, matched to the right program, and sent a welcome email. In the live version AI writes that email for each person; on this page it's a pre-written example personalized with their name and goal.

Twelve ideas I'd love to try with you.

Some are quick, some are bigger bets, and each builds on something you already have. We'd pick the two or three that fit best and do those well.

    Get more people in

    01A national Build Week

A free, one-week challenge with our founding schools: everyone builds one real thing with AI and shows it off. Colleges get an easy yes, students get something for their resume, and hundreds of finished projects hit social in one week.

    02A drop-in unit for professors

A ready-made "Build with AI" unit faculty can add to a course they already teach, with Codistry accounts for the class. It gets you into classrooms, not just career centers, and every class is a batch of sign-ups at once.

    03The MSP AI readiness check

A free 10-minute assessment an MSP sends to its clients. The report shows where the team stands with AI and recommends training, credited to that MSP. It gives MSPs an easy reason to start the conversation.

04A "what do you want to build?" content engine

The answer people give at sign-up becomes a library of "how to build a ___ with AI" pages and short videos, matched to what people actually search for. Your learners write the content plan for you.

    Turn learners into buyers

    05The stuck-moment rescue

When in-course tracking shows someone has stalled, offer a short live session with a tutor. It's a small step between free and the full program, and it tells us fast how much people value tutoring.

06Ads that know where they left off

Retargeting that matches the exact lesson someone stopped at, instead of the same ad for everyone. "You're 2 lessons from done" is a much stronger ad than a generic one.

    07Leaders from the newsletter

Newsletter readers who are managers or owners get invited to the AI Briefing and team workshops. One company deal is worth more than dozens of single sign-ups, and your referral program already pays $3,000+ for them.

    08Training money that already exists

Your Malta ads used the MDIA grant to take €1,200 down to €200. The US has its own version: workforce boards pay for approved training through WIOA. Getting approved in a few states could make the paid program free for the people who need it most.

    Make it spread

    09A public project gallery

Every graduate's project gets its own page. It's proof for colleges and employers, fresh pages for search, and something learners actually want to share with their network.

    10Demo days as ad creative

A monthly live demo where graduates show what they built. Cut into short clips, real people showing real apps become your most believable ads and posts.

    11Finish free, get listed

Your builders marketplace is live, with one builder so far: you. Strong graduates of the paid program get a spot, employers get proven talent, and "get hired as an AI builder" becomes the strongest promise in every ad.

    12Philip builds in public

A weekly series where you build a real tool with AI, start to finish. Your YC and SmartAsset story plus real builds feeds LinkedIn, the newsletter and the free course all at once.

    // what I found

The good news? It's all fixable, and most of it fast.

I went through the site page by page in a browser, read the site's own code, ran Google PageSpeed and pulled the search data from Ahrefs between November 4 and 6, 2026. Here's where things stand.

    codistry.com · growth audit
    3 broken 7 partial 1 working
    1. Partial

      Measurement

      • Google Analytics 4, the Meta pixel and Mixpanel are installed, but all three wait for "Accept All." Anyone who rejects or ignores the cookie banner is never counted, and there's no consent mode to fill the gap.
      • The Meta pixel only tracks page views. In the site code I could see, there are no sign-up, lesson or purchase events for Google or Meta to optimize toward.
      • No Tag Manager, and no LinkedIn or TikTok tags.
    2. Broken

      Free program signup

      • "Start AI Basics" opens a "Book a Free AI Lesson" form: name, email, preferred date, then a wait for the team to confirm by email.
      • The page promises "start when you want." The form asks for a date.
      • One-click Google and LinkedIn sign-in already exists on the site and could make this instant.
    3. Broken

      College and MSP channels

      • No page, offer or sign-up path for a college, a career center or an MSP partner.
      • No way to tell which partner sent which learner.
    4. Broken

      Organic search

      • Domain Rating 1.6 and one ranking keyword worldwide (none in the US) in Ahrefs.
      • Google has indexed about 370 pages, including about 190 of the 264 glossary pages. Every glossary page has the same title, "Codistry - Training for AI-Native Software Development", none link to the free program, and they rank for nothing.
      • Zero mentions of Codistry in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini or Copilot answers (Ahrefs).
      • Searches you could own have real demand: "free ai course" (~900/mo US), "claude code course" (~1,000/mo), "ai automation course" (~500/mo, low difficulty).
    5. Partial

      Offer clarity

      • The free program is "AI Basics" on its page but "Practical AI" in some footers.
      • Its page promises "Start when you want," then shows a "next programs are coming soon" waitlist further down.
      • Zero to AI Builder shows different prices on different pages: "from $800", $999 and $1,299, $1,499, $1,899 and $2,899, including an Oct 16 offer that has expired but is still showing. The next cohort is Nov 2 on some pages and Nov 10 on others.
      • "Enroll now" asks people to sign in before they can see checkout.
      • The "NYC 2026 Live Sessions" link in some footers goes to a page that doesn't exist.
    6. Partial

      Backlink profile

      • About 1,055 linking domains, yet a Domain Rating of 1.6.
      • All of the top 12 link texts are flagged as spam in Ahrefs, like "Premium Backlink Services codistry.com" from about 310 sites, first seen between April and September 2026. Your plain brand name is the link text on only about 45 sites. It looks like a link-spam blast, so a disavow review is worth doing.
      • Good links exist too: Crunchbase, Wellfound and Built In. The BITKRAFT link was lost on Oct 27.
    7. Partial

      Paid ads

      • Meta ran about 7 ads from July 1 to 7, 2026, Malta residents only, with the MDIA grant offer (€1,200 down to €200). Strong hook.
      • Each ad ran for a few hours to a few days, and the pixel only tracks page views, so there was no sign-up signal to learn from.
      • No Google ads found in Google's Ads Transparency Center. No US ads yet.
    8. Partial

      Proof and community

      • The builders marketplace is live but lists one builder: you.
      • Discussions has 3 posts and no replies. Insights has 1 article.
      • The referral partner program (up to $800 per program referral, $3,000+ for companies) is linked only from the footer, and the page asks people to contact you for rates and payout terms.
    9. Partial

      Brand search

      • codistry.com ranks first for "codistry," which is good.
      • The same results show codistry.ai, an AI coding product another company launched in August 2026, and gocodistry.com, an unrelated software agency.
    10. Partial

      Mobile speed

      • PageSpeed mobile: Performance 76, Accessibility 95, Best Practices 100, SEO 100.
      • Largest Contentful Paint is 8.1s. The hero headline types itself in, so it starts out blank, which is likely part of the delay.
    11. Working

      What you already have

      • A weekly newsletter, every week since late August, and "Join 2,000+ builders" on the homepage.
      • Google, LinkedIn and magic-link sign-in already built, Google Analytics, Meta and Mixpanel already installed, plus a referral partner program and a 7-day money-back guarantee.
      • Your pilot write-up and founder story are great material to build content from.
// what a new visitor sees

Two quick fixes with a big payoff.

Codistry homepage on first load, with the headline reading only Anyone can and a blank space 12
    Homepage, first load
    1. The headline starts blank. It types itself in after load, which likely adds to the 8.1s mobile LCP and can leave search engines and AI answers with half a sentence.
    2. Tracking waits for this banner. Analytics and the Meta pixel only start after "Accept All," so anyone who ignores it is never counted.
The page Start AI Basics leads to: a Book a Free AI Lesson form with name, email and preferred date 12
    Where "Start AI Basics" goes
    1. A booking form, not the course. The person who wanted to start now has to wait for an email.
    2. A date picker on a self-paced program. Swapping this for Google or LinkedIn sign-in straight into lesson one is the biggest win on the page.
// who else is out there

Lots of people teach AI. Almost nobody teaches people to build with it.

    On campus

    Google

Google's AI for Education Accelerator is a no-cost program at over 400 colleges in all 50 states (April 2026), and its AI Professional Certificate has an ACE credit recommendation. Its California Community Colleges deal alone reaches 2M+ students and faculty.

    Direct to learner

    OpenAI Academy

Free, with 2M+ people engaged so far and a stated goal of certifying 10M Americans by 2030, announced alongside its jobs platform. That is the closest match to your builder marketplace.

    Through MSPs

    Breach Secure Now

Added AI training for its 3,000 MSP partners back in 2024. MSPs know how to resell training: security-awareness vendors like KnowBe4 give partners 20 to 30% discounts with deal registration.

Codistry is the next step: you learned to prompt, now build something real.

Google's courses focus on AI literacy and productivity. You teach people to actually build, on any model, and you have a hiring marketplace at the end. Colleges already using AI Essentials need a "what's next," and that's exactly how we pitch their career centers.

    // let's talk numbers

    Your growth, as a funnel.

An example using a million free users and a conservative 1% free-to-paid rate. The middle steps are placeholders so you can see where each win happens. Once tracking is live, we swap in your real numbers.

In early HarvardX and MITx courses, about a third of registrants never opened the course and over half saw less than half of it, which is why activation is the first number to watch.

Revenue per free user$15 to $29

At 1% conversion and $1,499 to $2,899 list price per program. That sets the ceiling on what a free signup is worth paying for.

    The lever that matters most1% → 2%

Doubling conversion halves the users you need. Freemium products commonly see 3 to 5%; a $1.5K purchase will likely run lower, so we measure it, not assume it.

How spend gets judgedCost per activated user

Not cost per click or per signup. Every channel, partner and campaign is scored on people who actually start learning.

// how I'd get you there

Four things, built in the right order.

    01 · measure

    Know what's actually working

    • Build on what you have: add Tag Manager and consent mode to your GA4, Meta and Mixpanel setup, so people who skip the banner still show up in the numbers.
    • The full journey tracked: sign up, lesson one, finished, checkout, paid.
    • Every link tagged by channel, campaign, college and MSP.
    • Ad platforms connected so Meta, Google, LinkedIn and TikTok find more people who actually learn.
    • A weekly report that tells you what worked, why, and where I'd put the next dollar.
    02 · convert

    Turn sign-ups into students

    • Instant start into lesson one, with one name and one page for the free program.
    • Tracking inside the course that scores every learner on how ready they are for a paid program, based on their progress and habits.
    • Emails that bring people back to finish, then the right paid offer at the right moment, with a personal call for the hottest learners.
    • A LinkedIn certificate people love sharing, so every grad spreads the word.
    • Clean up the little things: one price and one cohort date per program, a headline that loads right away, the broken NYC link.
    03 · partners

    Colleges and MSPs

    • Founding schools: the first five get free access and their name on a public page. That's the proof the next schools want.
    • Career centers first, as the next step after Google's AI Essentials, plus Handshake for the hiring side.
    • An MSP partner program with their own pages, a ready-to-go kit and a monthly report on their clients.
    • Showing up where MSPs are: events like IT Nation and marketplaces like Pax8, once the kit is proven.
    04 · grow

    Ads, search and your story

    • Paid tests, starting with the one or two channels most likely to work, judged by how many people start learning.
    • SEO: fix the 264 glossary pages and go after searches like "free ai course" and "claude code course."
    • AI search, so ChatGPT and Google's AI answers recommend Codistry and don't mix you up with codistry.ai.
    • Your story on LinkedIn and X: SmartAsset, YC and 100% AI code, feeding the newsletter and the free program.
